SHAHRAM ENTEKHABI: ISALMIC STAR. 2005, 5:30
Islamic Star follows Iranian born artist Entekhabi, dressed in orthodox Muslim clothing, as he moves alone through urban space. On his white shirt is the symbol of a green star, reminiscent of those used in Nazi Germany to distinguish Jews from the rest of the population.
Entekhabi’s branding, in this instance is self imposed, but serves to highlight both the perception of Muslims in Western society as a potential danger to public safety and the statement of Muslims as victims of prejudice and exclusion.
