SLADJAN NEDELJKOVIC: THE MESSAGE. 2002, 4:00
The Message relays an answer phone message left by a female voice for an unnamed recipient. In the background noises originating from a phone booth can be made out, whilst the imagery shows a video feed from a surveillance camera. As the images expand and change, they seem to morph into numerous different things reinforced by the voice over, which relates how imagery has the capacity to transport us into different spaces. In a tone that fluctuates between public and private dialogue, the viewer is asked to address what constitutes our notion of place and home.
