TOVA MOZARD: WALL OF LOVE. 2005, 5:00
Wall of Love lies on the interstice between the public and the private, as the viewer listens to a woman’s account of her deeply intimate relationship with a national landmark. In her unusual disposition; objectum-sexual, an emotional and sexual attraction to inanimate objects, Mrs. Berliner-Mauer, has entered into a marriage with the Berlin Wall. The woman’s personal and sexual relation to the wall is contrasted with its historical and political significance, creating a strange fusion of the private and the public. The clarity and sincerity of her story raises questions about reality perception, differences, desires and morals.
